875.2/4 = 218.8

A few years ago the thought of having someone across the world supporting your weight loss and wellness goals would seem impossible. Yet, with today’s demands on lifestyles at a peak, many of us have not got the time or the luxury to take 2 hours out of our day to go and sit in a holistic practice reception to be seen by the expert coach.

However, my view is also somewhat different on this topic overall.

I believe that we are smarter, more confident and overall more on the ball people than we were perhaps ten or fifteen years ago.

We have careers, we are raising families and we have higher expectations of ourselves overall and this is a good thing! Overall, I like the world we live in today.

Just last week I sat with a good friend of mine and she is a 31 year old business lady with a great head on her shoulders. She runs a team of 10 people in her job daily and as she said it, she is coaching them to success five days a week and many of the skills she is teaching them reflect not only in their professional lives, but are also carried into their personal lives too. However, this does not mean we have become the untouchable superhero race, far from it in fact, but what it does mean is that there probably should be a shift in the way Life Coaches, Wellness Coaches and other Lifestyle Enhancement Coaches should approach their business. The days of handholding and you need 25 sessions with me and at the end you will “understand your issues,” are gone!

It’s a new era of people who are ambitious, passionate and informed and with this, coaching on all levels needs to mirror this type of behaviour.

I am not stating a claim that face to face coaching is dead, but most of my clients are on the move type people and they love to get their weekly email encouraging them with their health goals and positively challenging them to be better and do better than they did even the week before. It’s business coaching for weight loss, it’s sales management for feeling fit and healthy, and I adore my clients sending me their updates too saying “Pete, thanks for the last email, I really had a chance in my own time to figure out your questions and message.” Key words here are “in my own time.” This is a huge benefit about online coaching; you get to do your session when you have the time.

I am extremely passionate about what I call my real life business, so face to face, seminars and workshops but also I am equally passionate about providing a streamline service to people on the net, the world has changed and we need to respect this.

So, if you were thinking about getting an online coach to help you get to your goals, here are my top 7 reasons for turning this thinking into some immediate action.

1) Go at your own pace

We only get 24 hours in a day and even though in these hours we can take on the world, or so it seems! It is increasingly challenging to fit everything into a busy schedule. Online coaching allows you to read that email when you get that 20 minutes to sit down and grab a coffee, or herbal tea. That can be your selfish time and absolutely, you deserve it! Many coaches will be pretty relaxed about your email communication, so long as you get back to them within a few days they will know you are taking the information in and hopefully implementing it into your lifestyle.

I live in London so I know exactly what it is like to be a part of the rat race on a daily basis! With online coaching there is all the reason in the world to do your coaching session while on the tube, bus or on the train. It is so important to have “you time,” and that you fill that time, or at least some of it with some inspiration for you and your goals. Grab your email update from your coach, read the message and crack on with your day, fantastic.

3) Know that you have your very own expert writing articles just for you!

I need to be cautious here in my words as there is a lot of coaches out there copying and pasting their last 20 emails and this generic message ends up as a part of your coaching programme. However, a passionate and good coach will enjoy nothing more than taking the necessary time to read the words of your email and then respond with a well thought out coaching session. Anybody can Google the latest weight loss tips or foods for optimal energy, but you are unique and so should your information be. It will make all the difference when you have an email that has been put together just for your health goals, especially if a proper consultation was carried out to establish who you are, what your specific goals are. You should be onto a winner!

4) Forget the fluff! Ask the questions you want to ask and get some real answers

I have personally been a victim to dishing out lots of cash to see a coach in a face to face environment and sat looking at the clock thinking “get me out of here!” Even though coaching is evolving, there is still many people out there taking money from people and not being able to deliver the goods when it comes to that individual getting results. With online coaching you can get straight to your message of what you want and perhaps be more confident about getting your money’s worth. Again, if your coach is on the case, they will inspire you in every email you receive.

5) Get far more information for your money

Anybody who says that coaching is about just asking questions and getting you to find the answers within yourself is a liar! If you knew all the answers in the first place you wouldn’t need a coach and it’s an excuse for lack of knowledge on the coaches’ part to make a claim like that.

I actually find that my email clients get more value for money as opposed to my face to face clients. Now please know that I am not saying I am an incompetent one on one coach, far from it – But, my email clients need more than my smile and company, they need information and to be informed about whatever their particular journey is. This actually challenges me as a coach to really go out of my way and ensure that each email I send to my client is packed full of the best possible knowledge and that I write in a way that evokes emotion, because if not, good luck for me getting anymore business.

So online coaching is better value for money, why? Because you are not paying for a fancy room and a hug, you are paying to get the education you need to get to your goals and it’s as simple as that.

6) Refer back to your sessions over and over again

Ever had face to face coaching and gone “wow, that was amazing, but I can’t remember most of it?” With online coaching you can keep your session on your phone, laptop or desktop and refer back to it over and over again so you can really soak up everything within it.

I will have to admit, as a coach, this is the one thing I really enjoy about online coaching. I know my clients read their emails at least 2 or 3 times and that makes me feel good that they will succeed.

7) Pick and choose someone who you think will motivate YOU!

Online you have a global choice of coaches, you can research and check out literally thousands of coaches and choose the one who you say “yes, I resonate with this person,” and this is a really cool thing. Most towns in the UK at least only have one or two coaches locally and if you do not connect with them, you are completely stuck in the mud.

Utilize the leverage of the internet and find a coach who will help you with passion and integrity.

Typically, it is considered that you are what you eat, so naturally cause different types of food in different shapes of the body. Unhealthy eating as well as damaged or irregular patterns generally lead to disfigured.

I conducted a weight loss survey to find out the top three reasons for weight loss. The survey asked one question: What are your top three reasons to lose weight? You see, everyone who wants to lose weight has to have a valid reason.

A weight loss reason so strong that it can stop the food and close the mouth. * A reason so valid that you a absolutely cannot fail. * A reason so strong that it will keep you motivated even on the worst days. * A reason so strong that it motivates you to exercise even when you fell you cannot put one foot in front of the other

If you do not have a reason, then you have the yo yo diet syndrome. This syndrome features one diet after another.

If your reason is strong enough to keep you focused, you will rule the day. It can be one reason or several reasons. Develop your own reason or look at the reasons our surveyed individuals wrote down. Maybe by looking below, you will find a reason that motivates you.

Steps to Lose Weight Write your weight loss reason(s) down -or print off the list below and put it in the kitchen. Read it every day. Retrain your brain with your great reason to lose weight. If you do, then every time you reach for food, your valid weight loss reason will come to mind and the food will leave your hand. Don’t let anyone tell you that your reasons to lose weight are invalid or stupid. They are your reason(s, not someone else’s reasons. Keep focused on your weight loss goal.
