Introduction to The Diet Carb

Diet carb are grouped into two major groups-the sugars such as those from fruit sources known as fructose and from corn or grapes that are known as dextrose. Sucrose is derived from sugar canes, a plant grown especially to be harvested for its sugar content and made into processed table sugar. These are referred to as simple sugar. The second type of diet carb is known as the complex carb.  The complex carb is made from one or three linked sugar molecules. Generally complex carbohydrates are regarded as healthy carbohydrates awhile the simpler ones are thought to be less healthy

Simple carbohydrates sources and the diet carb derived from processed food such as white bread, rice, pasties, cakes and cookies are really fattening and can cause you to gain weight.  When glucose is used up quickly and all of those excess ones are safely stores as fat, the body would crave for more sugar to satisfy its hunger. This is the phenomena referred to as sugar cravings. Sugar cravings are one of the reasons why most dieters fail to reach their weight loss goals. When a highly refined food item such as chocolate is consumed it is quickly turned into glucose and enters the blood stream. Within a few hours, all of the glucose has either been used up or stored as glycogen in the muscles or fat.  These are all helpful ways the body would do to save you from starvation in case there is a famine sometime in the future. Glycogen is a short term supply of energy while fat is meant as a steadier and long–term solution that would be used in long periods of famine and hunger.

One the supply of glucose is depleted from the blood, the body yells for even more supply of sugar. The vicious cycle never ends until you are all fat and bulky.

Complex carbohydrates takes a much longer time and process to be converted into glucose so the longer period of time and the steadier flow of glucose into the blood stream as opposed to the sudden rush from the refined carb makes complex carbohydrates more enticing for weight watchers. You would less likely feel hungry as quickly as if you are taking simple carbohydrates.

Complex carbohydrates are those found naturally and provided in abundance by Mother Nature. These include corn, wheat germ, rice bran, vegetables and fruits. Any form of human intervention only destroys the natural properties of this natural food item.  Complex carbohydrates can really be helpful if you are trying to lose weight.  Aside from tkaing complex carbohydrates to replace the refined ones, avoid a sedentary lifestyle and engage on some helpful ways to remove stress from your life.
